The Future

For the past 18 months I have been hands on getting the academy up and running, have appeared in the BBC’s
twentieth celebration of Casualty and a guest star in 3 episodes of The Bill, along with being seen as The Headmistress and in my role as D.C Norton in Granada’s
Cold Blood series. I have just finished filming 'Missing'
for the BBC in which I play the role of DC Mary Croft. I
have had been working with some great actors and crew
which is fantastic.

Currently I am hands on opening new Pauline Quirke Academies accross the country and also one in Spain! The
Pauline Quirke Academy of Performing Arts is a new and exciting project I began in 2007. I started PQA because
when I was a kid, some of my happiest times were spent
in drama classes – making new friends, learning new stuff
and having some good old - fashioned fun! We opened our
first Academy in September‘07 and I’m so pleased we’ve
been able to bring our own unique brand of performing arts training to so many children since then.

Children join us at PQA for all sorts of reasons – maybe
they love drama and want to do more of it, perhaps they
want something fun to do over the weekend or maybe they
just want to make some new mates. What we (and what our parents) see, is children with bags more confidence and
self-esteem who are really enjoying themselves. I’ve so
many stories of children at different Academies who
walked in the door all shy and nervous, clinging onto their mums or dads, but who left after just three hours with us
as different people! It really makes all the hours I spend stuffing envelopes in the office worthwhile!
